Description
This gear fits 948 engines. It has an inside diameter of 9-1/8″. This is slightly smaller than the other ring gears available, so please measure your mounting surface on your flywheel to ensure you are selecting the correct part!
If you have the transmission off the engine, now is the time to inspect your ring gear. The starter motor engages the ring gear on the flywheel in order to turn over the engine. Over time, the teeth can wear down, chip or even break. If you need to replace the ring gear, heat the flywheel with a torch to be remove it.
If you have removed the flywheel, you will need a locktab kit and new flywheel bolts.
