These are often missing! If you want your nose to fit right and open and close properly, these are essential. They will allow the bonnet struts to properly telescope without changing your bonnet alignment.

Restorer’s Note: Most bonnets have damaged threads in the captive nuts into which these bolts thread. Make sure to restore them before you install these bolts. Chase the threads with a tap and lubricate the threads with grease before you mount the nose struts onto the bolts. Check and double check the threads, because if you break one of these, you will have a tough time getting out the broken piece. More importantly, these can be easily sheared at the step down to the threads so don’t over tighten!
